Dergimizin amacı, informal ortamlarda yapılmış çalışmaların ulusal ve uluslararası alanyazında paylaşımına katkı sağlamaktır. Bu bağlamda, akademisyen, öğretmen, müze/bilim merkezi eğitimcileri gibi alandaki bütün paydaşların yapmış oldukları araştırmalara, derleme ve diğer türlü bütün çalışmara açıktır.
Dergimizin kapsamı informal ortamlarda yapılan nitel, nicel ve karma türünde yapılmış özgün araştırmalar, derlemeler ve olgu çalışmalarıdır. Okulun bahçesinden, bilim merkezleri, müzeler, hastanelere kadar uzanan geniş bir alandaki informal ortamların, okul dışı öğrenmedeki bilişsel, duyuşsal ve devinişsel katkısı öncelikli alanlarımızdır. Bunun yanı sıra informal ortamların toplumun genel kesimine hayat boyu öğrenmede olan etkilerini içeren çalışmalar da dergimizin kapsamındadır.
Haziran ve Aralık aylarında olmak üzere yılda iki kez Türkçe ve İngilizce olarak yazılmış makaleler yayımlanmaktadır.

Graduated as teacher of chemistry and physics for secondary school at Faculty of Education University of Hradec Králové (M. Ed., 1988), his Ph.D. in pedagogy/educational technology oriented to chemistry education he received at Faculty of Education Charles University in Prague (1996), Assoc. Prof. (habilitation, 1999) and Prof. (inauguration, 2006) in didactics of chemistry at Faculty of Natural Sciences of the M. Bel University in Banska Bystrica (SK).
His scientific and pedagogical activities are focused on didactics of chemistry and in wider sense on didactics of natural sciences and technical subjects (curricular approach, mind maps, learning from graphical presentation etc.) and ICT in chemistry and in general approach in science and technical education (computer supported class experiment, Internet in science and technical education, tutorial software etc.).
He is a member number of scientific councils of academic institutions, editorial boards of professional journals and has number of other activities focused on science and technical education.
